About PTTI

Katwa Govt, Primary Teachers’ Training Institute was established in 1930, then it was conducted ‘Primary Guru Training’(G.T) as per documentary evidence at Dak Bungalow Road, P.O.-Katwa,Dist.- Burdwan. After independence in the year of 1950 it was further started with new nomenclature i.e. ‘Katwa Basic Training School’
